VIDAC.2 is a smart unit able to do more functions: multiports with various acquiring sensors, data storage and process, communication and control of external devices. All of it maintaining low consumption and small size.
The logic side architecture has been designed in order to support data processing requests particularly onerous:

up to 1 or more Gbyte of SDRAM memory(available only as option in case of COMPACTFLASHTM controller presence).


The communication dedicated resources permit to solve in a simple way all the acquisition, interconnection and data exchange problematic amongst heterogeneous equipments.
For this aim are foreseen:

3 CAN standard interfaces

2 ISO09141 standard interfaces with the possibility to chose the protocol, type 4 or type 5

8 RS232 serial lines composed by 2 wire(RX-TX) for communication using GSM telephones, navigation system, on board computer, display, card-reader, info-passengers, personal computer, modem, etc.

The analogue signals input selection, configured by a single project requirement, make possible the acquisition up to

moreover permits the acquisition, also in parallel to the engine control gear case, of two signal in frequency by two differential inputs with high impedance (typically engine speed, vehicle velocity); the threshold level can be programmed in order to be compatible with various sensors and conditioning (reluctance pick-up, Hall effect sensors, etc.)
